In recent years, references to “old-fashioned pantries” and “classic root cellars” have regularly popped up in real estate ads across Sweden as a potential selling point for people seeking new homes. The use of the words “classic” “old-fashioned” indicates shift thinking about traditional food storage spaces. this article, we explore recontextualization emotionalization spaces Swedish society. We base our analysis on an open-ended questionnaire storage, preservation, household preparedness directed households. investigate how respondents recounted shaped embodied memories act writing past storage: different spaces, times, people, practices, emotions, objects. Viewing these acts remembering emotional practices has led understanding experience is reinterpreted present. Seeing illustrates relational nature where longing one way reflexively deal with contemporary issues by managing everyday life. Finally, argue that reflexive nostalgia helps create interpret emotions – making present meaningful.
